I really like that book. I didn't find it too scary. More sad than anything.

Way better than the god-awful film, though.

the 1980 film is excellent
definitely improves on its source material

To be quite honest, i havent read it. I neglected my reading a heap during the hsc.. the most recent ones before this are "From the corner of his eye", which i absolutely love, By the light of the moon, and The Taking. All very good.

Do you like his older stuff or newer better? Im more into the newer lot...not so much sci-fi.

I just finished reading The Runaway Jury by John Grisham this morning. I've borrowed a few books for holiday reading and might begin another Grisham tonight or maybe a Jeffrey Deaver.

Has anyone read "A Clockwork Orange?" I forgot who by, sorry, but it's .. quite.. it's basically written in another language almost. I've heard the movie's quite contraversial and about distopia, but I have yet to read the book.

It's by Burgess and why do you say it's in another language? The english that I read was perfectly comprehendable. It's got a couple of crazy pseudo-russian words in it, but it's fine to read.

language is beautifully and eloguently written. i think gemmell is an amazing writer. her imageries and emotive language....god.
