Hey, dude
chill ok.
To pick something just relax and think of all the things you like.
then add to them the things youd like to make.
join them
mix it round till it fits
and suddenly youve got an idea.
Work out the design features and go for it.
But once you start Never change your mind cause you will lose it.
Dont worry you will hate it by the end but it will be worth it.
Good luck
and bad luck about the teachers

just start soon, even if its making a big long list of possible sources of inspiration :)
maddimully is right, choose things you like.
and think about design features you know/are good at and try and use them somewhere if you can
make sure its hard enough but not so hard you wont finish
and make sure you'll be able to write enough in the doc for it

not so, apparel is by far the largest focus area, with alot of pieces, both good and bad. keep in mind that you are marked on your construction and development of your idea, this includes the fabrics you have chosen, colors and whether this reflects your design and ideas, construction methods you have used; pleating instead of gathering for example. it is not marked on a subjective manner.

also remember that is it only 50% of your marks, so keep up with your theory work ;)

good luck.

they get good and bad pieces every year.

when i took textiles last year, my teacher went to marking, and they get some quite unusual pieces (i.e. a costume to wear during sex??)

most people go above and beyond what they need to do to get the marks. not saying you shouldnt try hard, but whatever you do, think outside the box and be innovative.

also, anything that involves the use of "green" technology always goes down well apparently.

good luck, and like honeyissweet said, keep up the theory. most people get so wrapped up in the major work they forget to do the rest of the work. espesh pay attention to bicomponent yarns and all that techincal stuff. tested EVERY year.

Good Luck girls for MTP- The MTP is really hard and time consuming. But its all about time mmgt!!!! Seriously, i know how hard it is, i still have nightmares lol. But the main thing is to get everything done by early july, and then after that, fix up any mistakes so its not last minute and you abtian the highest possible marks! besides if you work hard, you deserve it!

find something simple with a wow factor, beacause the wow factor can turn something basic into a band six, and try and think of something different, make a mood board of things you like and try and withdraw aspects to create something quirky.

hey im doing a dress, and chosen my theme as spring, my dress is strapless with a low back, and having flowing layers coming down as the skirt- got some inspiration off some of sherri hills dress designs and converted those to my own- im also making a flower out of silk to attach to the front of the dress.
im so excited!
already designed my bodice out of calico and sewn them together- now for the real stuff :)
