I selected question 7 with the role of audience enhancing meaning of artworks!!

I did that one too!! Very good for my modernist and postmodernist artists who absolutely shocked their audiences hahaha

Ikr!! The initial confusion when they asked about lines and figures communicating meaning really messed me up during reading time

I had to take a huge stretch and say it was about the stultification of the working class bahaha

i picked question 8 with the quote abt the 'object of art is not to reproduce reality but instead reproduce the intensity of reality' or something like that

fire question i came up with such a banger thesis i was bopping my head flames on the paper

My artists were Kara Walker (A Subtlety and Fons Americanus), Arthur Boyd (Love, Marriage and Death of a Half Caste series w/ Persecuted Lovers) and Lin Tianmao (Proliferations of Thread Winding) and so much of their works either appropriate past works/mythology and also really draw on cultural/historical ideas which was great for q6 bc it was a quote by anish kapoor about ideas growing out of other ideas my thesis was something like "artists do not create in a vacuum, rather, their work is inextricably grown from the cultural, historical and artistic ideas of those before them." I can't remember exactly what I wrote but it was lowkey similar to my preprepared essay
