Have you lived in Saudi Arabia, i have and they do not 'cencor' the west its a normal country. Australia and the UK have little influence in Saudi Arabia, its all America there.

What? Do you even know what the protests are about? The EGYPTIAN PEOPLE, its citizens, want the Muslim Brotherhood. They want that.

Dont you think that the people have a right to choose what they want? More than 90% of Egypt is Muslim. What's the problem of installing an Islamic party. No, Egypt doesnt want to get rid of any western influence, Egypt wants the US and Israel to leave town.

Are you saying its bad to be Muslim, Period? or is it Islam bad for the west?

Egypt has a very advanced army please understand that, its not in Israel's and Americas best interest to lose control of the middle east. Libya got rid of there president and syria is about to, all they need now is leadership, and Egypt will be that leadership.

The Egyptian Army wants to keep Egypt secular. The legitimate president of Egypt Mohammed Morsi was over thrown in a coup by the military, supported by the US. You can understand that the people didnt like that.

A country has the right to pick who leads it and under what laws.

P.S Frostbitten, can you link me to the videos of the "protesters wielding AKs and then hiding behind bystanders"?
yo, im pretty sure every reputable news source world wide has shown that there was mass-public support for the initial military coup. polling of egyptian citizens had 70% support for the military action and only 20% against. morsi may have been legitimately voted in (questionable) but he made himself a legitimate target when he usurped the constitution and disbanded parliament.

as soon as i read that the egyptian people 'wanted the muslim brotherhood' i knew you had no clue. have you not watched a single news bulletin in the last month? ahah

Yeah I'm sure saudi arabias police of vice and virtue is just a made up fact and the government doesn't attempt to censor media programs at all.

Of course egypt has a very advanced army, guess who sold them the weapons? They've done very well during the cold war playing both america and soviets to sell them advanced weapons systems, and america has been selling tons of high tech weapons.

Not all egyptians want the muslim brotherhood, there are SOME egyptians who want them. The first wave of protest post-2011 was AGAINST the Morsi regime. Morsi was overthrown by the army backed by popular support. Now the new wave of protests are pro-Morsi and they want to put him back. And yes Muslim brotherhood is hardcore islamist, they are restricting women's rights, pushing out anyone who isn't a muslim in the government. It's a huge step backwards towards making secular progress whether you like it or not.
Egyptian people: " Oh why dont we have a vote?"
**Morsi Voted in**
Egyptian People: "Okay this guy is hardcore, let him go"
**Morsi over thrown**
**Army takes control of the country**
Egyptian people: "we want him back"
**Army refuses to return control**
**Mows down protesters with machine guns**
Now we are here.

Wouldnt it be a nice idea to let the people vote again? One last time. To see who will get in. its a "democracy" right? BTW women do get to vote in Egypt...

And yes Egypts military is financed by the US, gives them 1.1Bn Dollars a year. Now imagine if the US loses control of the Army? They wouldnt want that. Between Mubarak's Rule and then Morsi's rule the army has not changed, at all. the same people who were with Mubarak from the army are still there now.

Lets drop a fact, around 95% of Egyptians are muslim. Moving on.

Yes the people did the support the military in ousting Morsi. After all, the Army is for the people. Now when the people ask to have Morsi reinstated, why doesnt the army listen to them?

Let the country choose who leads it.

You do realize the people who want morsi back is a minority right? The protests for morsi are a COUNTER protest against the overthrow of morsi. The reason why they overthrew the morsi government is because it was ineffective. The streets weren't safer, people weren't getting food or jobs. Of course the army doesn't want to give power back to morsi, what do you think will happen to the military leaders for starting a coup if they just reinstall the dude they kicked out? Don't be dumb.

It's an absolute tragedy. Army's don't start shooting civilians for the fun of it. Obviously shit got out of control and one soldier was too nervous, fired a shot and everyone started shooting. that's how military mass shootings start.

oh man, are you reading blogs by morsi supporters and assuming it's fact? a tiny minority want morsi back, which is supported by internal polling in Egypt and by just looking and the protest and counter protest numbers.

Yeah it's not like MB supporters were firing at soldiers with AK's or anything, not like the military didn't try to use non-lethal force at all right.

yeh they were firing from within crowds, burning churches, executing cops - its essentially civil war, are you expecting both sides to act as though it is a tea party?

wouldn't fucking matter anyways
M.B would rig the elections and bring Morsi back to power.
more like MB would start arming people to storm voting polls to rig the elections.

I guess people forget that the Morsi government was a complete failure. They had one year to stabilize egypt. They didn't bring any food, job or any physical security. Oh that and huge abuse of presidential power.

But, but if someone is democratically elected, it doesn't matter whatever they do even if they run the country into more shit, that person should stay in power till the end of the term no matter what man. *sarcasm*
