The 'thejosiekiller' GUESTIMATE:

A guestimate is pretty much a guess/estimate of what you think your final subject marks will be for this semester.

The word 'guestimate' was made up by thejosiekiller; who will forever be immortalised in this UTS tradition.

e.g.
My Guestimates:
Accounting Transactions and Business Decisions (22207): Credit - Distinction
Fundamentals of Business Finance (25300): High Distinction
Internet Commerce (31749): Distinction - High Distinction
Internet Middleware Programming (31336): Credit - Distinction

So whenever you like, feel free to make a guestimate on your marks. You may do this now or after your final exam =)

SPRING SEMESTER 2, 2007 RESULTS - WEDNESDAY, 19th December 2007:

Long way away.. but FYI.

Wednesday 19th December - Spring Semester results released
http://www.sau.uts.edu.au/exams_ass/exam_dates.html

How do I view my results online/email my academic record?
1. Click on this link: https://onestopadmin.uts.edu.au/ Then 'I accept' on the bottom.
2. Login using your student number and password. NB: It is the same login and password as your email and UTSOnline.
3. Follow the instructions below:

Yay! =)

A quote from jasee in 2006 (this information should apply for this semester):

Click on "Results", then you may have to select your course, and then it will display your results.
I recommend logging in by 23:00 and clicking around every 5-10 minutes (anything less than that is not really needed). Don't refresh the page as it wastes resources and also sometimes logs you out. The system only allows a certain amount of people on at a time and it will give you a busy page when its full.
Results are also available via 1300 656 887, although usually not until around 9am or so.
Visit http://www.sau.uts.edu.au/exams_ass/index.html for more details.
Some other useful information:
Jian said:
Actually, results will be available via phone around 5pm on Tuesday by calling the results line 1300656887
NB: Results could be available at 5pm on the day before the official results release (via phone) on the UTS Results line.
Jian said:
Now you can know if you pass all the subjects in Autumn 07.
Just go to the result page in MSA and click "Email my complete academic record", then your record in pdf will be emailed to your UTS email account. Then check "Total credit points gained", if you pass all the subjects, then all Autumn 07 credit points are added.
Now I know I pass all at least.
NB: This may work before the official results release.
*Second quote does not work for First Semester, First Year students.
Jian said:
I found another way which may help you know which subject you failed.
Go to the Study Plan page. If the status of the subject you did in Autumn 07 is Enrolled, then you passed. If it is planned, then you failed.
My friend's one subject's status become "Planned" and the Total Credit Points Gained indicates that he got 18 cps in Autumn 07 and he enrolled 24 cps.
NB: This may work before the official results release.
Thanks to Jian for the info.

Advanced Internet Technologies: Fail-Pass. Hopefully a pass :p
Information Technology Professional and Society: Distinction-High Distinction..I think it'll probably be a high Distinction though :/
Accounting for Business Combinations: a high Distinction-High Distinction. Really hoping for the latter.
Management Decisions and Control: Credit-Distinction..not too sure about the quality of some of my answers in the final so this might drag me down but I'm still hopeful.

Despite not having done 2 exams yet, those are my guestimates. Will revise once I do the exam :p

Horrific? :p I was lucky to have a great parter the second time around (which did like all the technical stuff)! Other than that, I think I would have definitely failed. EJBs = :burn: But yeah, I don't want to go through anything like that EVER again. Seriously, that subject's ruined my whole semester/uni experience to date @_@

How was IMP? I have to do it next semester, although it's been removed so it's Programming on the Internet now.

Re: UTS - Semester 2 2007 Guestimates + Official Results thread

It won't be as bad as AIT lol...

I am horrible at any form of programming, but I didn't find the stuff in IMP too hard. Assignments took a fair bit of time, but the tutor marks assignments pretty easy lol. The assignment assumes you have no knowledge of HTML/Javascript/PHP/CSS (and I've only played around with basic HTML websites)and I didn't find IMP very hard to pick up. Seeing that you have now done AIT, you should breeze through IMP/POTI.

Hopefully Jim Underwood/FIT approves my transfer to Mobile Computing; because I think I will do real bad if I have to do AIT. I was looking to substituting IMP for Mobile Programming (even though they are completely different subjects), but we'll wait and see if it is allowable or not.

Anyways GL with your last two exams!

The amount of time UTS takes to release results is quiet irritating!

When would the "credit points gained" thing work? I emailed the results record to myself and it still shows 24 credit points as enrolled and not added to the credit points gained.

How do you get your information Jian?

Telephone results should work this semester again. I'm a bit sick of waiting too.

You reckon it would work for a final semester student?

Haha.. It must feel like forever for you lil_star. I don't think you will have anything to worry about, seeing the marks you got in your previous semesters!

Thanks Huratio! Yeh, it does seem like for ever. It feels like 8 months not 8 days arrgh! Jeez, but this shall pass too. I guess its a better idea to take pleasure in the process of getting to get my final semester results. Jeez...not long to go!

Actually if the results are released on the phone on 18th by 12 pm...we have 7 days and 13 hrs to go arrgh!
