Was just researching a course on the usyd website and just came across something I'm not to sure about..In the course information it says:

usyd said:
CSP UAI for 2008: 76.05

Fee Paying UAI for 2008: 71.05
What does it mean by CSP UAI and Fee Paying UAI, what is the difference amd why is one lower than the other?

CSP means Commonwealth Supported Place, the government pays for part (I think 20%) of your uni fees. Fee paying means that you either pay the entire fee yourself upfront, or you can use FEE-HELP which defers the payment until you reach a certain income threshold, though you have to pay 20% more if you use that option.

CSP places have a higher UAI because they are in higher demand than full fee places.

Ah ok i understand, so if you are willing to pay the full amount you can get in with 5 UAI point lower...

Is it like this with most courses or just certain ones at usyd?

They aren't being offered anymore in 2009 onwards.
