What Are Moderators?

Moderators oversee specific forums. They generally have the ability to edit and delete posts, move threads, and perform other manipulations. Becoming a moderator for a specific forum is usually rewarded to users who are particularly helpful and knowledgeable in the subject of the forum they are moderating.

Even telling people to go read FAQ's before asking is getting tiresome..

You could argue that there would be no need for such an extensive forum if we all just searched for the information on our own... Who cares, it's a relevant question.

I *can* mod, but I won't be around much at all (read rarely)... So I'd prefer it not to be me.
I do know my way around uni and most things science.

Hehe yeah the same for me here. I already got my hands dirty on maths and physics, with the possibility of working on 3 projects at the same time I don't think we really need a mod anyway. There aren't that many spams around here.

I'm not moderator material and I can see no real reason to bother, but if the issue is being discussed I would suggest that shelley be added to the list... She seems to be the most helpful (and active) of the second year and beyond students at the moment.
