eh i'll be using 'and' although i know a few times in trial i wrote '&' and i remember thinking 'should i have done that? oh well' and kept going. i'd never abbreviate or whatever in english, like its english so may aswell show you've got a good grasp on the language itself as well as themes, techniques blah blah blah. i've also been told by my teachers not to use things like '&' but whatever.

I use nothing else than '&' ever, so I'll have a challenge to myself about not using it for 4 hours. :(

*gulp*

i used + in the business exam today. i dont think it would be that bad for business since theyre cool with dot points and that. but definitely write 'and' in english, especially in extension

I find it's quicker to write '&' instead of 'and'. However, my provisions allow a computer, so I'll type and cause it is far quicker than pressing the shift key and 7.

Don't use & or + !!!! My aunty's an HSC English teacher and they absolutely HATE IT! You technically won't get marked down for it, but if there is anything else that makes the response not perfect, you're just begging for the marks to be taken away. Don't use acronyms either, they really don't like it and will be annoyed, and the last thing we want to do is annoy the markers, right? :)
Examiners will not take marks away, they can only give marks.

Plus, you should show your capabilities of expressing proper English in your essay.

Or you could stop worrying about this, and focus on other things...like the actual exam
