As the title says, roughly what marks do you need to secure a band 5 in advanced?

marks are scaled.

it depends on how the rest of the state does.

But in theory, a Band 5 is the B-range (13-16).

If you score a Band 5 it = a B.

The performance bands are a weird representation of marks.

Not true. You can score 12/15 for every section in paper 1 and 15/20 for every section in paper 2 and still end up with a band 6.

To answer the question, a band 5 is about 65/105. So scoring 11/15 and 11/20 for everything will just get you there.
