What's a better way to say, "break the stereotypes"?

I want to say, ...has enabled me to break the stereotypes of..."

No worries, although it is technically after midnight and you shouldn't be working on your major. :p

Lolz. Is that a rule? Cos mine's officially due by 9am tomorrow. Panic. I haven't slept for the past two nights!

Yeah, but a BoS rule is that you can't work on any external thing after midnight, or something like that. Still, I won't tell.

I did use it! But there was nothing I liked. And my teacher emailed me last night to tell me to stay away from the thesaurus for the next 48 hours...
