Hey, I'm doing a BA at UQ this year, and am told that alot of the textbooks ($$$!!!) are pretty pointless to buy - most of your info is in lectures and in personal research rather than the textbooks. I was wandering if anyone's done these subjects and if or what textbooks they used...

I'm doing
LING1000 Sentence Structure and Meaning
LING1010 English through space + time
ANCH1250 Discovering Rome
LATN1110 Intro Latin A

start the course, bludge of a few friends who have bought the textbooks and then decide if you really need them...

in my experience ling textbooks arent worth the paper theyre printed on
