Who are the people that will get into Med easily in this forum?
Don't forget, 3 of the med students on this board got UAI's of 99.95, .90 and .85.

Ohh LOL!

Hehe, I'm like most people here... I'm DEFINATELY not 98-99 material, but as Lexi has mentioned:

That's what I'm thinking too... but I'll see how it goes with UMAT results and any (if any) Interviews.

Wouldn't it be disappointing IF:

1. You aced UMAT
2. You aced the interviews

BUT you didn't achieve the required UAI of 95+?
That can happen... someone who's just really good at UMAT, has great oratory skills, great personality, etc... but say, got 93.00.

Now that would annoy me,

I'd rather be rejected for the interviews (meaning I "failed" UMAT)and receive 95+ UAI

hehe. :)

Argh!
People are starting to play pranks at my school.
They're saying that they've got the email already so when we go and check to see nothing's there, they get to see our disappointed faces.
Oh well...I guess i'm going to be disappointed anyhow.

I think this person thinks they performed well, (unless they "know" they did, but they're just waiting for the confirmation from UNSW for Interviews/ACER for UMAT results) but I don't think he/she has their UMAT results yet :)

I know I did well in the UMAT, and I know I'll be fine for the interview. But, like Huy said, I'll probably end up like one of those with an insufficient UAI.

I know how overconfident I sound, but the UMAT was, to me, just so straightforward...except section III of course. Still, I haven't done homework in 8 years, so now's the time to start praying for that 98.00!

You are very confident there Lexi :)
UMAT results determine the Interview/selection of candidates.
Interview performance is just one part of three.

You know about the UAI, so that's not an issue.
But I'm worried about your "except Section III" comment, because I am assuming that all sections are weighted equally? Or rather, they would have to take into consideration the creme de la creme of Section III as well as those who performed extremely well in Sections I and II.

(That is, all three sections).

1. UMAT results
2. Interview performance (depends on #1)
3. UAI (depends on the HSC)

I'm not doubting you, but if (say) you had:

Section I - 90% (approximation, I know they "scale" the raw marks though)
Section II - 90%
Section III - 15% (I'm not saying that you got 15...)

But taking that example, they would consider other candidates who got, say 50% in Section III as well? (Even though the second candidate had 85% and 85% respectively? -- I'm not too sure myself).

But good luck! that's all I can say :)

When I queried ACER and the Med office at UNSW they gave me a strange response. The three sections are apparently NOT wighed equally, because more people do better in one section than in another etc, hence the scaling provides the universities with a single relative score to use as well as the scaled marks of individual sections. Like in the HSC, you can look at the UAI or the individual subject scores. Both are "scaled" to show something in particular, but not the same thing.

And yes, I thank I may be a little too confident, but I have no clue until next week!
