Well, if you want to get into the Actuarial Studies Co-op stream it's going to be tough since most of those cats will have UAIs of 99.3+ and will be excellent all-rounders ( sports, extra-curriculars, personaility wise...etc).

How many do they accept for Actuarial Studies Co-op Program? It is about 50? (hope it is more than that not less)

Where did you get 50 from??

I'll find out for you tomorrow. I'll ring up the dudes and I'll ask them.

I think you have a good chance of getting in.

Lol. I don't think so. I guessed it. I don't really know it for sure. All I know is that there were 2 people from the Trinity Grammar who got that Scholarship. From that, I basically made an estimation. I admit that it is a poor estimation though.

lol, thats ok man

It's just that there's about 200 people doing it first year so I think 50 might be too much.

It might be closer to 20.

20 isn't much, is it? It sounds extremely competitive.

To the zdzislaw: I am sorry for interruption. It is just that I am a curious kid as well.

There's usually about 15 co-op scholarships in actuarial. A few in finance but a lot of people can't maintain the distinction average needed for finance and so drop out. Accounting is another 'big' co-op with 10+. But BIT (business information technology) is the largest at about 20 per year...=P

16 Actuarial Studies Co-op Scholars were chosen in 2006, 17 in 2007 and I think 13 in 2008, so yeah, about 15.
It depends on how many companies are willing to sponsor us.

It seems to be increasing though. Hopefully about 20 in 2009.

Just wondering, what sort of UAI would I be aiming for, if i wanted to get a co-op scholarship for finance?
The booklet says like 95.7, but i think it would be much more right?

95.7 would be the minimum UAI expected. In reality, you would probably need something like 98 or 99.

No exactly true.....depends on which co-op you are looking at
Actuarial tend to look for a higher uai so your trial marks matter a lot more.
Otherwise the uai is merely a "meet the minimum requirement and you are in" because they make the offers before the uai comes out.
I think there are also cases where people have gotten in with lower uai......but probably extremely rare.....i mean the minimum uai is just the cut-off uai for that particular degree that year so if you don't meet the uai you can't actually do that degree at uni....
