I got selected because I was the highest ranked student overall that had a preferences for UNSW in the top 3 or so.

the school doesn't know if you guys chose unsw though, they just select whoever.. which usually seems like the top ranked student

Yeah my school asked around to see who put UNSW as their first preference. There are only 6 people from my school going to UNSW and I think I got the highest ATAR out of the 6..

Turns out my school lost my award -.- If I hadn't told them they would have completely forgotten. Well they called UWS and it's going to be resent.

Well before this incident I assumed all schools had filing cabinets for certain things and were completely organised. I guess not...
