There's like 1000 threads on this. The consensus seems to be that CSU is the best, followed by UTS and UOW

My mother went to UTS to do that degreen about 15 or so years ago. I would probably go there for that degree. My friends sister did that course at CSU and she enjoyed and is now living in Amsterdam. I wouldn't have thought it would look great on a CV but I hear its good for the course, but I guess it depends.

I like Wollongong a lot. I always thought UTS was the best for it though.

I may be biased because I am a current CSU journalism student.....

so I urge you to search for a video on youtube. it will answer all of your questions as to why csu is the best uni for journalism

the title for the video on youtube is: study journalism at CSU
it's not a fake video, CSU uses it to promote the course.

=)

Hey I went through this journo course search last year and this is how I understand the situation =]

If you're prepared to move to Bathurst for three years (or four years with sport studies) it is regarded as the best journalism course.

In you want to stay in Sydney UTS offers the best metro course.

UNSW has a revamped course with a fairly highly regarded course coordinator.

USyd has a Media Communication course which isn't highly regarded around the place, but from what I've seen isn't bad at all.

Macquarie offers a generic Media course, not too sure about it.

UOW is alright, while UWS has very good facilities but isn't highly regarded either I understand.

Outside NSW RMIT Melbourne is similar to UTS, while QUT is Brisbane's equivalent (though I have heard good things about Sunshine Coast Uni and their small course sizes too).

Hope that helped!

MQ offers a 'writing' course, rather than a specific journalism degree, but allows you to combine any of the media streams together (Radio/Screen/Multimedia/Writing).

Just for clarification :)
