Well Im kinda in that position, not going out with a uni guy.. well not yet, kinda in the air at the moment. I haven't found a problem relating to him in anyway. I guess it depends on the people and the 'relationship' they have. Like we met at a mutual thing, so if anyone objects, please say it now!

Has anyone been in that or is in that situation. does it work? are there any complications? im just wondering would a situation like this work. discuss
Hey :) I'm 18 and the guy im dating at the moment is 25, so he's finished uni. I think it really depends on the maturity of both parties. I am rather mature for my age, so it isnt an issue. But when two people are completely in different stages of maturity I could see it not working.

i'd just like to note that the ben guy who plays ryan on the oc is 26 and i have nooo problem with him being eight years older than me!!!!!

also, i hate it when the 12/13/14 year olds go out with older guys cause they have cars and IDs and buy them alcohol and drive them places and stuff. seriously, that stuff is wrong lol

i don't have a prob with uni/hs r'ships ... except i have the cliched image of the guy being older so that prob wouldn't work for me now lol

Nope. As long as she's mature and decent, I'm happy.

Amen to that. But sometimes a few extra years may make little difference in that respect...im with a uni boy and our time spent together is kinda brief (like once a week) coz we're both so busy :( . But that makes the time we do see each other even better i reckon coz its something to look forward to at the end of the week! :p The only other thing i can see is that we have our own friends that we dont socialise with together. Different environments and circles i spose. But at the moment that isnt an issue

I think you contradicted yourself, how can he not want me and then you question why Im not with him.. actually we are together now! SO that stuffs your arguement!

Last year, yr11, I was with a 3rd year Uni boy for a very little while. I don't know whether it was a good idea personality-wise - not that he's not lovely - but anyway, I was 16, he was 21 and it made him kindof uncomfortable. But then he has quite a lot of conscience. But also, the one time I happened to meet all his friends, and kept getting asked what courses I was doing, having to say, "Actually, I'm in high school..." That was sort of awkward for me too. The 3hr distance gap didn't help either.
I think it depends on the people though, and the circumstances and all of that. Having said that I like older boys best.
Also 16->26 is bad? One of my 17yo friends was with a 29yo recently. He acted like an immature 19yo so it sort of evened out in the end. Buuut then she decided he was a dickhead. End of story :)

For me it would be really difficult to be going out with a high school chick cause I am off pretty much all day, and go to uni in the afternoon/evening. I guess there would be the weekend, and some nights, but it would be much easier to be going out with a chick from uni, especially if they are from the same uni.

I'm actually getting a fetish for Asian high school students, missing my high school days is one the reasons i guess.
