How do uni marks work? Is there any 'scaling' or adjustments to factor in the distribution of marks?
is there any advantage of taking higher level courses when you have the option?

Also why do group assignments exist?!?! 25% of your total mark for the course is determined from the work of others (generally people way less competent)

I feel like there's no scaling of marks at uni

even if everyone collectively does shit in an exam

depends on the uni/class/assignment, a lot of classes do scale to a bell curve and a lot don’t. and ye group assignments suck lmao

Fwik in unsw eng, no scaling, if the cohort bombs the exam then the hurdle might be lowered but that's up to the conveners discretion

At ANU there's scaling depending on the course, the difficulty of the exam etc
