umat is as important or more important than your uai. that's right. that one exam is equal to or greater than your WHOLE hsc. you work out whether it's worth studying for or not.

*some exceptions: jcu doesn't include umat and i think there r some unis where umat is not weighted as highly as uai. for the most part though, it's pretty important.

gosh you people who are planning on doing medicine and all the stuff umat is for are smart anyway! otherwise you wouldn't be considering doing umat...
you should be used to juggling many things at once and if you're not, now would be a pretty good time to start learning

Totally agree. UMAT can get "in the way" of regular study for the hsc. I'm trying to balance it all out, ie: umat study every morning and hsc study the rest of the day. Every weekend ill be doing umat tests.

Its not only medicine its dentistry, optometry and physio

and if yoru've got your heart set on medicine... well it really is hard. The UMAT is soo important. In universities like Adelaide, Monash and Newcastle it could be argued that its more important then UAI/ENTER whatever.

But apart from getting into those courses its not important.... but then again you could say that about year 12 and education in general.

You are in the same boat as 99% percent of other people sitting the UMAT, section 1 is a bitch.

My trails are luckily a month away from UMAT. Hopefully i use that to my advantage.

If you are wanting to study medicine, then you'll mostlikely be getting a shitload of stuff to do at uni, so simply take both umat and the trials being at the same time as a warm up.
