= percentile 72

i did not take the test seriously at all. don't even want to do med any more. i literally guessed all of section one and three..aka...complete guesses NO attempts AT ALL for readings section one texts and no way at all even trying to interpret the patterns.....this was my second time doing umat (last yr got 151..)

umat should be abolished. its a fked up test. make it a knowledge test. see who survives then! haha

S3 brought me down and I thought that went well! ARGH! Bit disappointed...

I got an interview with UNSW, it was on the phone ( I'm an International student) last Friday but I'm scared I screwed it up. Any suggestions?

I did f2f. Did a few past papers.

Pretty stoked, actually. After scoring 62/110 in f2f's mock trial, it was rear up and head down, studying for this exam.

P.S. Are my UMAT scores actually enough for UNSW med? My predicted UAI was 99.85.

I know how you feel... I got 88% and I feel really dumb now, after browsing this thread.
I feel like I should give up now, I want to get into JMP at Newcastle, but that's looking less likely by the day.

I heard some unis value different sections more highly, ie if u do well in s2 but poorly in s3 they consider u.. is this lies or does it depend on the uni? Also i dont know if all unis have put out offers im not sure about newcastle, but unsw is only doing first round interviews atm... there could still be a chance for round 2...i dunno im confused ne help ne1?

It's great to see alot of excellent results on here!

But, alot of people do badly in it my friend got 0-20% this year so doen't dispair and their are plenty of other pathways. Please PM me or create a thread/post if you need any more advice, questions, queries, etc.

Yeah we looked at your results obviously section 1 was a mistake being 108. When the highest recorded score was 96, that is why your post was removed.

With my predicted UAI, these results should be good enough to get into medicine at Newcastle (where I live by the way) if I really want to.

Nonetheless, that is an excellent umat result, you should get an interview at UNCLE/UNE! Think long and hard about why you would like to do medicine and please speak to your careers advisor, etc. Too many people end up doing medicine for the wrong reasons or regret it by the time it's too late. It's a very long career path and it takes 11+ years of learning just to specialise.

Hey guy's i got in the 72nd percentile range but I come from a very rural region in Victoria (1,300 people), I've applied for Monash bonded, because I can't get enough of watching cows in a paddock all day. What do you think of my chances? I've also applied to Tassie and pretty much everywhere else, including JCU, which doesn't use the UMAT.
