Hey guys here are my marks from my report card:

School Rank: 429

Standard English: 75% (1/16)
General Mathematics 73% (11/16)
SDD: 85% (3/7)
IPT: 65% (3/10)
Music: 60% (5/6)

Wow I thought I was going pretty horribly. Well it turns out I need a UAI of 81 for the course I want, so would that be realisitic?

you need to up your maths rank a bit, like top five at least. and music. you need to improve all these results if you want to achieve 81. good luck.

Im sure my eye sight is working well, but did you say the OP needs to improve their ranking in Standard English from 1/16 to top 5?

lol... and yes to OP, your ranks are good, but your actual marks come HSC time will need to be higher, usually for 80+ UAI your looking at medioko rankings, 1st and 2nd quartiles plus all marks being roughly 80+ in HSC

it varies greatly.

my gf went to a ranked 600 school and got 80ish with the top half average ranks (in that school).

although her subjects were higher scaling.
