Excuse me,
Does anyone know a tutor or a coaching centre anywhere within Sydney as I'm preparing for the HAST test and want to find someone who specialises in preparing students for the HAST exams. I'm in year 8 and want to apply for a selective school in year 9.

Thank you.

also no one actually knows exactly what’s in the exams except whoever has done it before and the questions are very unpredictable making it extremely difficult to produce hast type like qs. closest bet you’ll get is the scholarship paper on the acer website which u have to pay for. good luck with the exam tho, i’m also sitting it this year for year10 entry.

Yes! You can get selective test tutoring from Selectivetrial. They provide personalized local tutors and one-to-one tutoring services to help students clear all the basic concepts of the subjects. The tutors provide individual attention and conduct monthly exams to evaluate students’ performance. Questions are quite unpredictable in the Selective and HAST test because every year students are surprised with new questions. Also, the revamped test is more challenging and competitive. Seeking tutelage from academic experts is a great way to ace the test but it all depends on your problem-solving and thinking abilities. If you wish to get a free trail from Selectivetrail then try : selectivetrial.com.au/product/selective-trial-free/

Can someone please tell me what type of questions are for the middle secondary (applying for year 9 2023
,currently in Year 8) HAST exam? What should I revise to get into the higher percentiles?

Try this website: classroom.notesedu.com/learn/hast-year-8-and-9

I used it for hast prep and i got in to selective. It costs $99 so it's not that bad if you want to save some money from paying a private tutor.

Questions in the test from what i remember are unpredictable but genuinely solvable. The format of Hast consisted from a section for Maths (maths questions + GA Q's) , English (reading comp), and writing (under 20 mins on a random creative stimulus).
For Yr 9 level, just revise a little bit of the content for year 9, but other than that, maybe just do a couple timed writing stimulus practice.
