I was just wondering if someone could give me a detailed breakthrough of the topics in the new extension 2 course? I know the core topics (complex numbers, mechanics etc...) but I just wanna know the “subtopics” of each core topic. I have a kinda shitty teacher so I’m a bit confused on what topics have changed and what’s new from the syllabus change. Thanks :)

You can always look at the new syllabus off NESA or a new textbook, but the main stuff is:

Complex Numbers: basics, argand diagrams, locus, vectors, polynomials, roots, exponential form etc.
Proof: contraposition, contradiction, induction, inequalities
Integration: Sub, parfrac, IBP, reduction formulae
Vectors: just like basic 3D vectors, dot product, then some stuff with vector proofs and geometries
Mechanics: Simple harmonic motion, vertically and horizontally resisted motion, projectile motion

Hope I havent missed anything...

My teacher is just retarded, he was telling me that polynomials and vectors were no longer in the 4u syllabus even though the NESA syllabus said otherwise. So I just wanted to double check and you’ve given me a perfect list of topics, thank you so much 🙏🏻

Yo, even if you dont prefer your teacher, or even if they got the syllabus wrong, no need to flame them. Bruh everyone makes mistakes, and yeah you did the right thing by comparing here, but dont flame them!

the syllabus is new. most teachers will learn what's in the syllabus after having taught the syllabus. it's not so easy to keep track of what's new when the std maths, 2u adv, 3u and 4u syllabii have all changed fairly recently.

Polynomials arent in 4u unless complex numbers. Only 3u real polynomials.
