anyone know australia's top universities or the official site containing the list?
also, would it be better to study a science course at UNSW, SYD or UTS?

Depends...I wouldn't know for science though.
Some people (incl me...though this wasn't intentional) have only applied for Universities that belong to the Group of 8

The best Science Uni unless your doing engineering is Sydney

The top uni officially is ANU, yet I get the impression that UNSW and USYD are better....why is that? :S Maybe its just because the UAI cut offs for UNSW and USYD are much higher than ANU....i dunno. But does anyone really think ANU is better than UNSW or esp. Syd??

thanks...i'm thinking of applying for med. science but cut-off last at Syd. is a bit higher than my UAI....doubt it'll will drop this year though

ANU ranked 51 on the world TOP universities.... and UNSW ranked between 101-153 and SYD ranked 153-201..think someone posted this ranking stuff somewhere before....in bored...can't remember now~

eg i wouldnt rate Mac uni at all given the shit review people i know that go there give its law department and the fact that they failed their annual quality assessment and are the 1st uni in australia to fail the assessment,

dear god, please tell me your joking!!! Thy failed just law assessment right? because i cant see them failing everyting (they are good at humanities and psych for example) is there some article on this? Im thinking of doing electives in law (just a taster, not a degree) at mac, but if this is the case im not even going to bother. is there something on the internet about this? if so, please tell.

from what ive heard usyd is best for sciences, unsw is meant to be best for law and maqc for psychology aparently. unimelb is meant to be best for arts too

Keep in mind that if you don't get the best UAI possible their are other unis apart from the big 4 Sydney ones and also private college and TAFE.

And I don't know if their is an alround best uni for all subjects as most unis specialise, but would never say they do

do you think employers etc. also like people from the higher prestige unis because to get there in the first place they had to get a good uai?
