Hi,

I need help with the following questions on the World City Tokyo.

  • What is the life of the rich like?
  • What is the life of the poor like?
  • What are some of the challenges of living in Tokyo?

If you could provide me a URL of any sort for any one of the questions above - that would be great!

Tokyo, while having a large population ~30 million, is not considered a mega-city with respect to the HSC Geography Syllabus. The Urban Places section specifically defines megacities as urban areas in DEVELOPING countries with a population above 8 million. Thus your questions, especially the latter one, specifically relate to the mega cities section of the syllabus and arent' required for study.

A case study of Tokyo is better placed in the World Cities section as it is one of the top 3 (4) world cities (the others being London, New York and (Paris)).

You can't do Tokyo! It's not a mega city of the developing world...save Tokyo for the world cities part of the course. Instead do a city like Mexico City or Lima or Cairo or Mumbai or Beijing but NOT TOKYO...

I hate to state the obvious but the hsc online site is a really good resource....here's the link to the mega cities part of the site http://hsc.csu.edu.au/geography/urban/mega/megacities/Mega_Cities.html
