Hey,

What steps should be taken to ensure the accuracy of titrations?

Thanks

Go to the tiration comp, whoops, your too late.

now being serious, rinse all equipment with distilled water then the substance you will put in it.
hold the measurement line at eye level, measure from the bottom of the meniscus, do one rough titration then 2-3 serious ones. thats about it

Also ignore the first 'rough' titration in any results.

I just have to completely rofl at this topic! My friend has no idea what titration is and I'm not going to tell him and he's afraid to ask the teacher. He thinks it sounds cool so he thought it was a Poke'mon! xD and still does... yet it's such an easy procedure in chemistry

I completely agree with the above posts.

Also there is something about holding the pippete against the glass of the conical flask as it is calibrated for not taking the last drop.

For the rough titration you should add the titrant in 1 mL additions so for the proper titrations you can quickly run down to within 5 mL.
