I’ve been heavily considering dropping business studies bc I really don’t enjoy the subject. Our teacher is good and I’m doing considerably well but the content is kinda boring to me. However lots of people have strongly encouraged me to keep it bc I do well and also to have “safety units”. I’ve already dropped engineering bc it was a distance ed subject even tho I was doing really well (was kinda forced to), but if I kept it I would definitely have dropped business. I know some people doing 15 units rn (accelerated 4U maths) for the sake of having safety units. Do you guys think having safety units is better or only having 10/11 units to focus on?

No way those people doing 15 units aren't crying into their pillow every night. Idk if they even have the time to cry wtf

But Fr I would just do 10 units so you can just focus on those, it's so much easier and it'll make year 12 more bearable

Tbf the ppl doing 15 units have already finished 4U maths, so they’re doing the equivalent of 11 units rn, but they have enough to drop to 6 units, and choose not to

do people generally still think that having 'safety units' is good for the hsc?
I'm currently deciding to drop math ext or not and one of the reasons why i may not drop is that im afraid that I'll have to drop to 10 units by yr 12 and that seems so risky to me.

to me the decision on whether dropping ext kinda has to do with
do i want more time to work on my other subjects or do I want like 1 safety unit

dropping from 12 to 10 was the best decision esp cuz i wasnt enjoying the subject
now i have sm less stress and time to focus on my other subjects
(my ranks moved up significantly for my other subjects after dropping)
