the whole idea is that ELEMENTS of the style are derived and made fashionable.
the designers have creative freedom so they put in elements that may not be strictly military based.
that, however, is completely fine, because they're not designing military uniforms but military-inspired fashion.

if you sit and look you could see an element of military in every single one of those pieces/outfits.
