There ok, i like a gunshot to the head of trepidation. The vocals are a bit try-hard though, they make me want to not listen to them. Falling to grey is also quite good.

i love all the songs i've heard from them. pull harder on the strings, like light to the flies and gunshot to the head.

but seriously, matt heafy has quite possibly the worst scream vocals out of all the screamers.

no dynamics no nothing. just the constant monotone sorta grunting of each word. extremely boring.

its a shame cuz the music is fucking kickass so i just block out the vocals.

im thinking he should give up the screaming and instead just do a way harder edged singing voice. hetfield style or tom araya.

I am not very qualified in the area of adjudicating vocal skills. Which similar bands would you say are more successful at dry throat screaming? Atreyu? Killswitch Engage?

i dunno its all very subective. personally i think screaming is ridiculous most of the time. good ole harsh singing voice is all that is needed. screaming just seems out of place.

I dont like atreyu's........the guy sounds awful.......sounds like a pig being gutted.

the singer from lamb of god is pretty awesome. that singer is my favourite.

danny filth i love somtimes.........not really much of a fan of cradle of flith but. his is more of a shriek........which i think sounds better.

maybe you should listen to some opeth. you'll find better screamers in metal like soilwork or inflames or hell even children of bodom than you will in hardcore/metalcore/whaterverthefuck-core.

i'll think of more later. everyone likes different things but.

Children of bodom - alexi laiho has the best voice in the business IMO.
Atreyu has a tradition screamo vocal sound which is good, but not my taste.
I like pantera because you can make out some of the words but its stil hardcore screaming.
The vocals in burzem make me want to vomit.

i just remembered a good scream/metal vocalist.

devin townsend.

i know shit all of his songs.......but i saw a song called "love?" on rage once with his band strapping young lad and i decided then and there that he was the best screamo metal vocalist.
