In this thread, you're all insane.

I really don't get this dogged hatred of Israel from the Arab members of the forum. We're all in Australia, why do you all insist on flogging the corpse of a horse?

Fucking hell, weirdos.
dumb hick chick who has no idea about the situation figures she should weigh in with her worthless opinion.

Oh, one other thing - Israel is a Jewish State. What's worse? Haredim who don't contribute in so many aspects of Israeli society, though pro-create more than any other group of people in Israel or a Jewish State with an increasingly dangerous population of Arabs who will effectively destroy the Jewishness of the State?
It is good that they are popping out mini-Jews, but these kids will probably stay in the Haredi community and be just as useless and draining as their parents on a larger scale. I am all for the plan of the supported aliyah, it seems to be a better way to keep Israel Jewish but still an efficient, functioning society.

It's the religious freedom in Israel that allows the Haredim their right to practise religion
Sure, they give religious freedom to the Haredi but what about other Jews? A marriage between two secular, conservative or reform Jews is not legal in Israel. Quite unfair.

I think Israel will implode and dismantle from within eventually.

That country is based on a falsehood and terrorism.

Such a country will only rot from its core.

Actually, quite the opposite. Unlike the rest of the Middle East, 'that country' is based on democracy.

The two most prominent political parties tried to ban any political parties run by Arabs, and their supreme court reversed the ban.

Their democracy is fairly strong. Bureaucratic maybe, but strong. And the youth are proud of Israel but sick of war and intolerance. Eventually things will settle down...

If the Palestinians and Hezbollah and all the other terrorists groups actually want peace, that is - which is fairly debatable.

Trefoil remember when I said sometimes you know what you're talking about and other times you have no idea what you're on about? This time will be one where you know what you're talking about.

The Palestinians and Hezbollah, who are not terrorists but may be considered to be such due to their diminished ability to wage war, do not want peace with the true terrorist state of Israel. Without justice their can not be peace. Until Israel complies with international law fully, including withdrawing from occupied territories and going back to the legal 1948 borders, there will be no peace.

And Trefoil I'm disgusted at your lack of sympathy for the Palestinian people. Once again Israel is harshly restricting all aid from entering the Gaza strip. There are literally thousands upon thousands of starving people, which Israel is denying foreign aid too. It's a concentration camp - anyway you look at it. Israel is not allowing the Palestinians to get what they need to live. That is indefensible, in defending that, and calling that democratic, you are denying the rights of the Palestinians in Gaza to exist.

I disagree with that notion. I don't think the government of Israel should be allowed to force the people of Gaza to be deprived of needed foods and medicines. Israel continues to perform these acts of injustice against the Palestinians. Whereas the Palestinians are merely resisting these injustices, and so long as the Americans arm Israel, they can't be stopped. Irrespective of the fact that all of the world has asked Israel to adhere with international law.

The Palestinians asking for peace on Israel's terms, will not be given an inch back of their country. It would be considered a surrender. The only way for their to be a fair resolution, would be for Israel to comply with international law and fulfill their international obligations.

They got Gaza and they got their Aid...then they started launching rockets into Israel and commiting cross-border attacks. Then they were locked in.

Today's lesson: don't attack your neighbour and expect them to open up their fences so that your courier can come through.

Today's lesson: Don't think you can pass off ignorance as an argument.

The crossing points blocked by Israel into Gaza are not limited to the Israel/Gaza border. They also include the borders between Gaza and Egypt, including the Kerem Shalom and Rafah (ofcourse this is going purely by memory) what this means is that any aid, irrespective of whether or not it would have to pass through Israel, has to pass Israeli checkpoints, and what they've been doing is turning back these needed foods and medicines. Also, they didn't "get Gaza" - what they got was a small part of western Palestine/Israel and are now crammed in there with little supplies, heavy restrictions (collective punishment enforced daily) and other such.

The Palestinians in Gaza are living under conditions which we would not accept animals to live under. You wouldn't let an animal go through that, would you Jared? So why is it okay for Palestinians to go through it?

A dog isn't calling for my complete destruction, nor trying by every means possible to blow me up. Even a dog wouldn't push political oponents off roof tops. Would they Sam? And if they would, what would you liken Palestinians to?

Yeah man refusing to allow the rightful owners of the land to participate in decision making that will certainly affect their lives is democratic. So's government sponsored starvation and poverty.

Oh this assumes that the dog has no need to defend itself from oppression. Palestinians do, and have for 50 years or so. Clearly they have reason to defend themselves. So what do we have? Israelis taking land, wrongly, then starving and oppressing the rightful owners and putting them in 3rd world conditions voluntarily.

And for what reason?

Putting them in third world conditions? That infers that they haven't always been living in these conditions. :)
