Sims 2 is completely 3D.
You can pan the camera anyway you want.

Sims have MUCH greater physical details.
Sims also have more character and have personal goals and ambitions.

More items, building tool, greater building options.
Three different neighbourhood's (each with their own twist)

Be warned, on a dated pc, load times can be frustrating.

You can buy it, anywhere. and it shouldnt be over $80

I saw it at Toys'R'us for $79.99.

It's 3D (no, The Sims 1 wasn't really 3D), hence the people look more attractive.

You can choose not just your characters' hair and clothes, but you can choose their make-up, shape their features, etc.

And the camera isn't on a weird overhead Big-Brother-esque angle as in Sims 1.

sims 2 is the best game in ever.

you can buy it basically anywhere that sells games. big W sells if for ~$70 i think. It should be avaliable because they keep releasing the expansion packs which require the base game.

It is a zillion times better than the first one.

Sims 2 can be very fun, too bad I don't have time now with my studies. You can basically find it any games store, EB (Electronics Boutique) will have it, there are also some expansions you can get which mainly expand on what you can do with your sims in game.

the best and cheapest way to get sims 2 is to borrow all your friends sims 2 games and expansions but buy the latest expansions, the current latest one is Open For Business, and the next one coming out in September is Pets, and install all the sims 2 games and expansions but install the latest one last that way you can play sims 2 with the other expansions but only require the latest expansion to play it which is around $30.

The Sims 2 is such an awesome game.

I personally have spent hours thinking up different designs for residential or commercial lots. I have over 60 custom houses, each with a unique element.
I love the challenge of having to overcome certain construction obstacles, finding alternative means of achieving the best design possible. Ooooh, I <3 this game.

I can play it for hours... :D

Yeah, though once you have finished getting someone to the height of every career, and building their family up, the only thing you can do is create sims to torment. :D
