When's the right time to phone a store about employment?

I just rang a store and they said "Sorry, it's really busy here." lol
I admit it's a bit...early now. Like rush hour.

So what time should I ring? Near closing time??

I shouldn't have rang them just then. lol

So, about 4:00?
The store closes at 5-ish.

i was wondering the same thing, is that the same for all stores?

i would have rung early in the morning if i were you as well, to get the call out of the way and to try and beat the rush of people

4:30 is about a good time to ring them, there's also the option of actually going up there with a resume and present yourself nicely, that way, you could leave a good impression and also avoid the chances of catching them during rush hour

Yea they'd much rather u go there, wait with a resume.. but other than that if it closes at 5:00 go there at 4:30-5:00, usually around this time... especially on a friday the store is almost closed anyway.

I'll phone them and say something like "If you like, I can come down there tomorrow with my resume."
Yea? :)

It's better than going all the way there, and then getting a "No, we're not employing anyone at the mo."

i assumed the person beginning this thread wanted to call to see how their application was going or to talk about changing an interview or something

if you are calling to see if they'll employ you don't try, go in and give in the resume
