My teacher's theory is that the BOS chose "Change" as the first area of study for the new syllabus because they wanted to brainwash everyone who did the HSC into thinking that "change" is "good", hence the new HSC is "good" because it's a "change" from the old syllabus.

It's propaganda, I tell ya!

That can't be quite right cos we'd then support a "change" in government (bye bye Bob!).

I reckon it's to show the dynamic qualities of the Carr government, reforming the educational system to suit the students of the 21st century! A vote for Carr is a vote for the future of our kids!

*vomits* and he's my MP.

My major problem with the new HSC is AoS because...well you all know why. I think that 40 minute essays are ridiculous given the amount of material - fine, related texts are an interesting idea but a 1 hr essay like 3u would be better.

The next year is something like "Journeys" (creditt to McLake) and according to him the set texts are (very) oddly familiar to 'Change'

Trust them to change the AoS :D

Yes, visit the syllubus page on the BOS site and check out the new English Syllubus. If anyone can find out what is in the "Jounenys" booklet let us know.

Other changes:

Lear --> Hamlet

Sci-Fi in 3U (called "speculative" fiction)
[This includes studing LOTR (Fellowship) - the movie]
