What a great match. Safin as many mentioned was so humble, or maybe that's a more laid back - European thing.

But whatever, his speech was hilarious, and he was such a good old sport with Hewitt at the end. And did anyone see during the 5th set (I think???) when Hewit was getting his leg massaged, Safin took off his shirt - but the camera fuzzed up!!! Damn!

I'd love to understand his Russian - he even speaks Spanish, what a heart throb - Go Safin!

omg yes, but only briefly cos then the camera went to hewitt. a couple days ago in the telegraph there's a nice half-page shirtless photo of safin in the middle of a shot... bwahhah i cut it out so gorgeous.

when he was speaking spanish to the ref guy -- so HOT. apparently he grew up as a kid in spain and learnt to speak spanish fluently.
