Anyhow, I had a thought (which may/may not be relevant or just a silly idea) that the idea of somewhat favourable scaling towars the sciences/maths may be as a way to entice students to do these subjects for a high ATAR, and also to continue them in uni in order to support the government or the Australian job sector in general, which is lacking in the maths/science areas. This may be a far fetched idea, maybe the government is secretly supporting UAC's scaling like this, we will never know. Just a thought I had and wanted to share if it made sense.
