Iraqi army troops have stormed into a Christian region that has been under Islamic State control since 2014 as part of US-backed operations to clear the entrances to Mosul, the militants' last major city stronghold in Iraq.

If the liberation of Mosul proves successful, this will be the biggest hit to the Islamic State to date.

Let's take back Iraq for it's people!

The majority who live in Mosul, all of Iraq even, are Sunni Muslims and hate the Shia dominated government in Iraq. It's one of the many reasons why Mosul was lost in the first place - Iraqi soldiers ran, because they knew that ISIL would have more influence over the locals. 30,000 Iraqi soldiers fled from 1,500 ISIL terrorists. imo that shit heap will remain a shit heaps for decades, Mosul won't fall over night, and even if it did, it'd be a hotbed/clusterfuck of terrorists.

Trump should build his wall around Iraq.

Iraqi troops are also advancing toward Tal Kayf and plan on storming the Chaldean town, the Iraqi Joint Operations Command said Saturday.

Hopefully the Chaldean people doesn't suffer and are granted a safe haven. Let's fucking do this.
