In my half yearly for english I had a little trouble attacking the essay question on the journey. It read :
"Journeys often lead to a greater sense of self". Asses how true this is for your prescribed text and two other texts of your choosing.
I attempted it as best I could, with throwing in a few techniques and such from the texts. On the bottom of my response the comment read
"You need to use more techniques from the author"
I'm a little stumped.. and my trials are in 2 weeks so I thought I should get it sorted.
Help? Im in advanced by the way, and studying "My Place" by Sally Morgan

Forgot to mention the problem is working the techniques into the response, not finding techniques themselves lol

usually you mention the technique when you give an example from one of your texts, so you'd talk about the specific textual example, and then chuck in the techniques, eg " which is portrayed through the use of symbolism", or " this is shown through the juxaposition of . . . "
