pretty good, but i couldnt stand lord of the rings, got so boring, 5 pages describing the hobbit hole, *puts book down and does something else*

Tried to read it when I was about 10. Quit pretty quickly. Haven't tried again since.

To be honest, I barely managed to finish this and couldn't get in LOTR at all.

The story was okay but it's one of those things that I'm just not really interested in.
Heaps dense and dreary writing.

I can never fathom why they're so popular.

I've finished LOTR 3-4 times, though the Frodo and Sam parts can be a bit boring.

You want tedious? Try reading The Silmarillion :-D
