13 ghosts did nothing for me, not even somthing i could laugh at. I also had the fortune to see 13 erotic ghosts on dvd. And they say pornos don't have plots!

oh, and i liked the grudge. i thought the use of flashbacks was cool, and the opening scene with bill pullman was... memorable!

ooh ooh i saw it today. i may have looked like a wimp, but i was scared shitless at a couple of points. it wasn't really that good though, kind of like a poor man's version of the ring.

the thing i thought they could've done which would've made it MUCH scarier was to be a little less liberal with showing us the little boy and the wife directly. like, part of the reason the ring was so scary was that you never knew up until the end exactly what you were afraid of. they were both freaky looking, for sure, but they never built up to anything.

i also thought the ending was rather poor and could've been built up much better. also, why did she think that thing would get rid of the curse? (i cbf doing one of those spoiler things, if you've seen the movie you know what i'm talking about). like, they didn't explain it really well. or at all.

i know *that*, but why would burning down the house do anything? like, why would fire be the answer? they should've attempted to explain it

they did... the HOUSE is haunted by the death with a great rage, once u kill the house u get rid of the rage and the grudge!

But i think the idea is like... the Grudge gets passed on from victim to victim, or something like that.

Hence why the rage travelled all the way to inner city toyoko to kill the blonde sister.

edit - sorry, was just being difficult, I do get what you mean, but I still think they should've explained more clearly about WHY burning down the house would magically make things better.

sorry if i don;t get what you are saying, but i don't think it's that the grudge gets 'passed down' from victim to victim. The grudge started with the mother and son, when they were killed. they don't pass it on to anyone else, they simply track down and kill anyone who enters the house. so the old lady who died in the bed won't then go to haunt anyone else, she doesn't get the grudge, she just cops the shitty end of the grudge's stick!

I saw it this avo.. there was only 5 of us in the cinema.. and I'll admit I was sitting there with my hands partly over my eyes when I knew there'd be a flash of some horrid face.. but I was laughing for most of it.. I guess its good to go with someone so you can both make fun of the movie instead of being scared..
