Re: The Official A-League Thread.

great win by heart. would be awesome to see the two melbourne teams play in the final. we havent had a real derby in the finals ever except for the f3 derby and the "distance derby"

Re: The Official A-League Thread.

Crappy first half, like last week against Wellington - but we picked it up in the second half. I was really worried at times, Topor-Stanley saved the game for us with many, many, many body blocks and we were completely outclassed in the first half - they kept racking up chances and they were unlucky to have not scored two or even three.

As for us, two great goals to equalise - and what was Shinji thinking in stoppage time?

I think at times we were trying to be a bit 'cute', like the above - and the defence at times would try and play the ball out when really it'd be better to just smack it long.

But I suppose, in the end... we got the three points. But the performance wasn't that good, to be fair.

So that Del Piero guy just put in arguably the best performance in the leagues history

Just let us enjoy that win why it lasts. Having an actual targetman like Griffiths really helped our attack click. Defensively we still looked a bit fragile but Calvano did a lot better than I expected.

Really hope Fabio nets a late winner. but id take 3 points in any way possible.

Its still the honeymoon period where the Wanderers are the new cool thing in town doing well and exceeding expectations. Come back in 5 or so years when youve had a few rough patches and see if theres still this enthusiasm.

our position right now is similar to melbourne victory in their first season, and they have only grown since then.
