An example of the inaccuracy of memory is when Yossl is telling his son about the day he first entered Auschwitz . Baker documented this inaccuracy as “he says it was cold. Winter. But it was warm. Autumn.” Showing his fear of the time altered his lasting memory being that it was shivering with fear that made him remember it as winter. In this case documented history is valid truth while memory is misleading but understandable within its context

hey, but that isn't when yossl enters auschwitz for the first time is it ?
i thought it was just when he was captured or something in 1942
he entered auschwitz in gate 28, in 1944
