Im so surprised that you know the meaning of this word Philistine. But it seems to be used in the wrong context because you use it to describe someone whos ignorant (apathetic {just in the hope youll understand one of the words}), so using it to describe yourself would be a more appropriate usage. I stand by my belief that America should be the words lone super power thats so funny I cant believe you said that.

I wont retreat from that...although i cant really argue with Jamaca.
The context that I used philistine in was 'natural enemy'...i think this should be in the political correctness thread.

You can't, of course. But I hope that doesn't stop euripidies from trying, one way or the other;).

Hey Bush
Have you even tried to prove it works or not. How can you prove that Capitalism is superior if you can't understand how democratic socialism works, or won't even try

What the fuck are you talking about? Obviously you can't prove a system works using some mathematical equation or something. It's just a question of what works well enough (obviously nothing is 100% perfect) in the real world.

Start making sense.

Most people I know under 20 just want to be different....the most common scenario is the conservative and experienced parents, with kids growing up and trying to break with tradition, they basically evolve into tree huging lefty fanatics....or they might have very loving hippy parents....or a respected family member...but all in all swing that way.
People on the right might have a parent with a high-flying gov. job or very apolitical (usually not too left) parents which force them to look at the world in a more realistic way. A dabbing in the right is practical, efficient and gets results. It takes guts.

This is just an attempt to discredit any leftist saying his just rebelling from their parents. Well I have to tell you I dont fit into youre outline. This Idea that right wingers have a more realistic view on live. I would say they have a conformed into a defeatist way of looking at human nature ( if you even believe there is such a thing). In this new age, information is readily available with mass media including World Wide Web, television, books, radio, and newspaper. But in this new age we find ourselves shying away from information. It hasnt made us thirst for knowledge more so instead we cling to the opium of the masses television a contemporary of religion. So weve have all become apolitical or right wing because the world has become to much to take so you just tell yourself nothing can change because of human nature or as Alexander said in a thread before he doesnt worry about global warming because its not going to happen in his life time.

*slaps with glove* If my memory serves, the context i said that in was extreme sarcasm, obviously indicating this is true, but not a responsible attitude. How dare you young man.

Also, I was basically refering to lefties like you, not the ones who know what year and planet it is/they're on. Your kind (even though you are quite unique) are generally stereotypes who grow up after joining the workforce.

here is the evident problem with strengthening ideology other than through theory...
heres your own senario
once one of u (in this case its euripidies) disagrees with the current political standing and gets all emotional on his own side of the spectrum, more ppl will find ways to oppose it (bushy) and in turn, the only political practise will be anarchy.
now theirs nothing wrong with such dissagreeable matters, its only human. but that is why the most successful governing parties are those of the healthy centre where they will cause no one any suspicion or cause uprisings against themselves for attempting to create totalitarian states.
