In case you weren't sure of what I was asking exactly: it neither asks or denies students from going. Hence I was asking one of the SENIOR members of UNSW for help as they might have already experienced this sort of thing. Now my dad isn't the most social person and he might want me to go, however if I'm not allowed or don't have to, I don't want to show up and waste my time.
