true that. Lyrics, repitition of lyrics and tonality/tone colour are probably the most important and easy to discuss.
doing a song is such a clever idea. lyrics are easier to remember than quotes :)

haha yeah true true

lol aw yeah it is easier
but i always end up talking more about the language techniques
i have to balance it out with the audio techniques...
n if i cant/dont i might as well just do a poem

The lyrics are practically poetry, so you can't rely solely on it without discussing the way its being sung.

Really? I wouldn't think it mattered much. Lyrics are like poetry, and you don't tend to analyse how poetry is read aloud

Depends, if you're talking about the essay, you're definitely right. If you're talking about the reading task, then it's a bit demanding to have expected kids to know every single song. :p
