Hey, Would it be a good idea to go to a doctor any asking for prescription anxiety tablets, such as Beta Blockers?
Beta blocker - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Beta blockers protect against social anxiety: "Improvement of physical symptoms has been demonstrated with beta-blockers such as propranolol; however, these effects are limited to the social anxiety experienced in performance situations."
I have been told that these drugs are to be taken an hour or two before a public event and it will stop any anxiety or un-calm behavior, they last for around three hours.
Would it be a good idea to take them before a speech or presentation?
I know that it is probably dangerous and illegal to use prescription medicine in this manner, that is why I was recommended 'beta blockers', because they are a short-term anxiety tablet, meaning you only take them before the public event, not for an extended period of time.
Would you recommend this to a nervous speaker?
