Anyone who uses multiple computers next to each other MUST get this software.
eg. a Desktop and a laptop.

http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/

It allows you to share a keyboard and mouse seemlessly across the two computers through your home network. It also shares the clipboard.

As you move your mouse to the edge of the screen in one computer it jumps to the other one.

It supports Windows, Linux and OSX.

Wow, that sounds potentially incredible, I'll definitely be checking this out. Thanks :)
Yeah, I only found out about it after talking the the ECTE Technical support person. He had a Mac, Linux and Windows box all sharing the same keyboard and mouse on 3 screens.

Synergy is great, been using it for a long while, especially handy when i'm sitting at my desk with 4 monitors and systems and add in the laptop occasionally, no more messy wires.

But i'm not as blown away by it as the free VMWare Server, lets me cut down on needing more systems and it's finally free haha.

I remember seeing that listed on lifehack just a few days ago haha. Downloaded it but I do wonder, could this work other computers not next to each other? *cough*

As long as there's a network connection and you can see the monitor on the one you want to control it should work I'd imagine (Well, you wouldn't even have to be able to see the monitor, but I'd imagine operating the machine could be tough if you can't) :)

This is pretty neat, so far I'm playing Warcraft in a window on one machine, and just swapping across to the other comp for browsing, chatting and whatever else. On the downside, I keep going to drag windows from one computer to the other, I imagine that habit will wear off soonish though, hopefully :)

i'm too lazy to turn my head onto a different monitor.

I'll stick with my various VNC, RAdmin, RDP, SMS and KVM's
