Hey guys in our school book jacaranda it has about 2 pages of infromation about the structure of liquid fuel & solid fuel rockets, info about the engines of a space shuttle and variation in acceleration (not the normal variation in g dot point with the pendulum prac) and g-force during a typical launch with info about multi stage rockets.

I was just wondering if we need to know this stuff and if we do which dot point it comes under. Btw there is nothing about it in the dot point book or in a couple of past papers i had a look through. Should i just learn it just in case. Dont want to loose top 5 rank:worried:

if you can't find it in the syllabus, and you have checked with your teacher to ensure that it is in fact not in the syllabus, then don't worry too much about it.

that said, schools in their school assessment have a habit of assessing content that is not in the syllabus. this is not very good, but that's life.

also text books always go into more detail than required so don't worry about learning everything in the text book, just learn what you need to know. you get an idea of what you need to know by the syllabus dot points and from doing past hsc papers

Anyway, general knowledge and background is good to have because you can relate discussion in questions back to it.

Studying for the HSC is not just about learning stuff for the "dot points" it's a general learning experience and the syllabus has been put there to make sure you cover the basics of the course.

Don't just think HSC is about passing an exam or when you get to Uni, you will fail.

Not my own experience, but from others' experience. Because at Uni they don't have a syllabus and anything is fair game if it is remotely connected.

Anyway, we learn to learn, not to pass tests. ;)
