okayokay! so when you have 12p > -36, does the sign switch? :S

I always thought the sign switches when there is a negative, but the answer shows that p>-3 ... *EDIT*

Explain??? Anyone Plis

Don't you mean the answer is p>-3?
The inequality sign would change in the case when the pronumeral is a negative such as
-12p>-36
which would give p < 3
and you could always chuck in random values to check :p

Also its worth noting that if you take the reciprocal of both sides the sign switches as well.

yeh if it is say,

2x>-3 - when you divide by two, don't switch it as it is a positive number you divided by:

x>-3/2

But if it was:

-2x>-3 - when you divide by -2 you flip the sign regardless of what you divided to get:

x<2/3
