Freehills was a joke. Make us answer those questions and prepare cover letters, when all they do is a systematic mark cull frenzy, dissapointing. (yes I let it get to me a lil) Though alot of my friends with D+ averages got rejected, so I'm not sure what they were after

Freehills must have very specific criteria if they can cull that quickly.

No word from Corrs yet.

I initially thought, with a turn over that quickly, that it MUST be based on marks. But I don't think it is solely based on marks. I have a good friend with an average higher than mine (two or three marks higher) yet I got an interview and they didn't.

That said, I think they use marks to initially narrow the field and then look at cover letters / application questions to slim the pool down further.

I heard Blakes starts inviting people for interviews on the 12th. That's the next deadline I know of. Good luck everyone!!

Congrats, I presume it is the result of uber marks, I do remember you doing quite well.
I have a D average in law. In the email they said they were impressed with my university and personal experiences, so it may be that they were not solely focused on marks.

Good luck hyper!

Does anyone know if the firms more likely to contact us via email, phone or sms when offering first round interviews?

DLA Phillip Fox has started sending out rejections (weird that it was sent out today)(not sure if they have offered any interviews yet). So far I have only heard from Freehills but no interviews offered from anyone else who has sent rejections either...not knowing is worse I think lol.

Looks like unlike Freehills, the others have sent out initial rejections and then the more rejections and interviews are on the way.

I haven't heard from DLA Phillip Fox yet
I think I'll get rejected by them though

But yeah I think your theory is right
send out the rejections to the people who get cut straight away
and then they'll have more after that

But we'll see how this week goes...

Others have heard from:
*Freehills (Rejections + Interview Invite)
*DLA Phillips Fox (Rejections)
* Corrs (Rejections)

For me so far:
*Freehills: Rejection
*PWC Legal - Online test invite, completed that but no phone interview as of yet.

I also applied for (but haven't heard from yet)
*Baker & McKenzie
*Clayton Utz
*Corrs Chambers Westgarth
*Deacons
*DibbsBarker
*Gilbert + Tobin
*Henry Davis York
*Maddocks
* Middletons
*Thomson Playford Cutlers
*TressCox Lawyers
*Gadens
*Jones Day
*Allens Arthur Robertson
*NSW Attorney Generals Department
*Blake Dawson
*Holding Redlich
*Johnson Winter & Slattery
*Slater and Gordon
*Harmers
*Minter Ellison
*Mallesons
* DLA Phillips Fox
And probably others I can't remember, bit worried because I think a fair few of my cover letters were sloppy with errors
