The US took down Saddam that big fuckwit, without realising the Shia are the majority of Iraq and so which country would the Shia side with most lol? Certainly not the US but Iran their close religious brethren.

Saddam and ISIS (including all these Arab Sunni groups) are two sides of the same coin. A lot of former Saddam supporters happen to be working among groups like ISIS to destabilize the current Iraqi government and region as a whole.

Btw compared to Sunni Arabs and Assyrians who Saddam promoted to high roles within his regime to simply marginalise and oppress the Shias and Kurds. He used Chemical weapons against Iranians and Kurds, ever remember the Halabja Massacre where innocent Kurds were massacred in their thousands?
