That's the other thing that's turned me of anæsthesia - pharmacodynamics and pharmacokynetics. It's all MATHS ARGH.

I couldn't even handle normal kinetics in Chem 2 last year.

I like pharmacology bit more for the principles and the actual chemical interactions involved, not the maths (kinetics).

errrr..
Pharmacokinetics.. is good tat way.. but lik even with physiology there is maths.. it shouldnt be lik a massive chore..
Pharmacodynamics also has maths..

the D in dynamics is wat the drug does ;)
and Kinetics=how the drug moves :D

btw maths is the basis of all good sciences... and maths in med is soo EASY!!
so take no notice of lexi.. he's still in yr 1 ;)..
but ull change ure pref for spec 6-10 times b4 the end of med school..

lol you're right...

Alvin, stop rubbing in that you're ahead of me a year. It's old.

And just because you find the maths easy, Mr 4 Unit, doesn't mean that everyone will. I for one have struggled with maths for seven years. It might be simple calculus to you, but that doesn't make it universally easy.

Pharmacokinetics is basically application of chemical kinetics to pharmacy (I've seen a third year's notes). I did chemical kinetics last year and though many around me found it simple, I had trouble with it. Kinetics lost me a distinction.
